Learn the French language in a condensed, online format. Gain confidence and acquire accuracy in French through focus upon the four basic language skills: speaking, listening comprehension, reading and writing. You will participate in scheduled class sessions as well as self-paced individual exercises and group assignments.
This course is offered concurrently for CAPE students (non-credit), in partnership with the Department of World Languages and Literatures. CAPE students will not be awarded any institutional credit, but please be aware that other students in the course may be enrolled on a for credit basis. Requirements of students taking the course for credit will differ than for those take the course through CAPE. CAPE students are welcome to modify the course syllabus based on their unique needs, in consultation with the instructor.
Enrolling in this course on a non-credit basis will not count toward fulfillment of SMU’s undergraduate language requirement.
This rigorous, intensive course demands a minimum daily time commitment of 1 - 2 hours for the duration of the term.
Textbooks are not included in the cost of the course.
You will access your course instruction, assignments, and will interact with your instructor and fellow students via Canvas, a learning management system.
